She has changed…Elena has been through more pain and death than almost everyone on this show…she’s one of the strongest characters on the show. If she hasn’t changed much then the show isn’t being written well.

But as the show goes on the more she becomes like Katherine. She may not purposefully play on Damon and Stefan’s heartstrings but she does it any way. She’s just as manipulative as Katherine and twice as dangerous because no one excepts it out of her.She’s learning that she can’t always take the moral high-ground. She has to get her hands dirty now. 

She’s stronger and smarter. but She still loves deeply and recklessly, its something that i admire about both her and Damon. But She’s still massively different than Katherine. Elena cares for people, she doesn’t know how not to where as Katherine doesn’t really know how to care for someone. 

The point of this is…that honestly Elena is evolving it may not be as obvious as Damon or Stefan but she is…

and while Stefan’s love for her isn’t changing, and Damon’s love is getting stronger, Elena’s love is getting confused. She still loves Stefan no doubt, but I don’t think it was as strong as it was…and how could it be? but Damon who’s been there for her, who’s loved her through everything is right there for her when Stefan is off slaughtering villages…her feelings for him had to get slightly confused i mean after all Elena is only human.
